About Me:

Growing up, "soccer" was my first love. I began walking at 7 months and by the time I was 18 months into my life, I was kicking a ball feverishly. I played the beautiful game I love competitively from age 3 to 20 as much and as often as I possibly could. I'm the biggest fan of world football that I know, by far. I've been closely following The EPL for about 5 years now, entirely because it was previously very difficult to get consistent EPL coverage in the US using the media avenues I was familiar with. Even today, I only get to watch 3 EPL matches per week on Fox Soccer Channel. It's VERY frustrating!
Gareth Barry, Ashley Young, and Fernando Torres are my favorite current players. I've been a big fan of Torres when I first learned of him during the WC Qualifying in '05... so I'm not exactly a Johnny-come-lately. I love the Villa guys because they're lefties like me; Ashley is dynamic, and Gareth is the epitome of a Captain. He should've at least been the LWM for England at Germany '06, if not the LCM. Now, the national manager would be nothing short of a fool if Young weren't the LWM.
Dennis Bergkamp is my all-time most favorite player. His first touch and spectacular finishing prowess are second to none in history, in my view. Not Pele, not Platini, not van Bommel, not Maradona, Klinsmann, Ronaldo or Baggio, not Henry, not Rooney, Drogba, van Nistelrooy, not Torres nor any other... ever.
Lastly, I think Carson and Gabby must stay, Moore should be recalled from loan, and two high quality defenders must be brought in now that Mellberg's leaving and Davies popped his Achillies'. Gabby should start most often at RWM and a quicker striker, like Moore, should man the front with Carew or Harewood, most often. To acquire Defoe would've been stellar...
Those moves will put Villa over the top in the running for a spot in Europe during the next campaign, and on the fast-track to reaching top 4 status with all the young talent fulfilling potential together for what is hopefully at least 3-4 years.
